From the AKA website:

Kites Over Grinnell is a no admission, one day Fun-Fly Kite Festival that has drawn kite fliers and spectators from over 10 states as well as over 50 cities across Iowa. Last year, there were over 30 kite fliers with single line, double line, quad line & really big kites. Over 3000 spectators arrived with their own kites or purchased kites from Chicago Kite/Kite Harbor on site & joined the open flying fields. 19 acres are set aside for the event with roped off areas for performances. Educational components occur within the local schools prior to the festival & a free kids-kite-making workshop is offered at the event. Other special features include a community waffle breakfast, a Kite Parade to the flying fields, mass ascension, indoor kite flying, kids games, raffles & prizes, & a lighted night flight. Food & kite vending are available on the grounds.
