Family Kite Festival 2009

The 22nd annual FAMILY KITE FESTIVAL is scheduled for Saturday, May 23 and Sunday 24th 2009, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. Sponsored by B93.3,102/1 WLUM and WMCS Radio, Gift of Wings, and the Kite Society of Wisconsin and Illinois. Featured performers include Chicago Fire, Josh and Zack Gordon, Charlie Sotich, Team Pegasus, Dan Newman, Paula Schenk, Paul Koepke, Mike Delfar and the kites of Yves LaForest and Jean Lemire. The Family Kite Festival will be held in Veterans Park from 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am until 5 pm on Sunday. The festival is free with plenty of free parking. The Grand Launch of 500 kites will take place at noon. Rhonda Begos will sing the National Anthem. This event will be shown live on the Internet! Kites and food will be sold at the festival.
