Sketchup is a free program from Google.

It's a kind of Drafting / CAD / 3D program. It's been suggested that it can be used to design kites.
I played with it today because the weather was too awful to go outside. I'm not sure how useful it is for kite design, but it is fun to play with.
After spending too much time with it, here's Mimi:

If you install Sketchup, here's Mimi's file to play with:

Press the "o" key and you can move Mimi around and look at her from different angles. You can even see inside thru the mouth.
You can also change the colors to play with different ideas for your own spikey ball.

Welcome to the forum Kitebuilder. Feel free to post a few notes about yourself over in the Introductions forum so we can meet you!
Re: Google Sketchup
The software is a free download. Make sure you go to Google to get the download so you don't have to sift through piles of crap to get it. The built-in tutorial will get you rolling in a hurry, and by the end of the week you can create your own spikeball.

I have drawmn my own spikeball. it´s still white, but all parts are in place.
I created a pig-nose like i have seen at ready builded spikeballs in the web.
The part, any one colled here mouth, is the nose there and undernead it they appliqued a smile-mouth on a hexagon-tile
