IKE Team Name(s)

Postby Babbman » Tue, Sep 18 2007, 09:10 AM

We need some team names to draw from for the IKE quad team...

Everyone is encouraged to put their thinking cap on and type away...

No real restrictions other than:

NOT IKE Quad.... too much like iQuad...
No number references... the team will range from 4-8 members.
No hurt feelings if we don't choose any of the names that come up here...lol

Let's see what this creative crowd can come up with...

And also, for any of the dual line people out there... how about a name for a potential dual line team?

maybe some wordplay with Revolution? It will say Revolution on all the kites anyway.

Fern is working with puns with "online". Get it? We are an online club and we fly kites on "line"
She also suggest things with "forum" such as "forum fliers". "Revs Online."

I think it was Isaac who came up with "Herding Kittens", which is what it certainly feels like sometimes :-D
But kittens sounds a little to much like little girls to me. No offense to little girls of course. :-D
How about homage to our favorite "contributor" to the kite fields:
Herding Geese
It's goofy, but a goose gives us a nice graphic for logos, team jackets, and groupie t-shirts.

ugh... I don't care for anything with an animals name in it... feels too high school or university...

and if anything, it wouldn't be hearding geese... but dodging geese....

I like colleges, and a lot of pro sports teams have animals too.
I like "Dodging Geese". Let's see what other names come up.

In using rev as part of the name, I am partial towards

Rev Elation

I love Revs and I am elated every time I get to fly...

And, finding revs in the first place was a revelation for me with kites and what they could do... as well as a revelation to many people who have never seen one before...

Dodging geese is pretty funny though... but I just don't like the thought of an animal as part of the name or the logo... just too cutsie IMHO...

Going off the subject for a minute... some of the best band names I have ever heard are:

INXS <- the best name ever, IMHO
Loud Neighbor
U2

Maybe something along these lines?

OK, Herding Kittens was just a joke name for the KOLM team fly.

My wife thought I said Hurting Kittens

I kind of like IKE Squad but I guess that sound too much like IQuad

How about The Revolutionary Flying Circus or IKE's Flying Circus or something like that.

Well, in binary ascii computer code, IKE would be: 010010010100101101000101
and if we convert that to our regular number system (base 10) we would get: 4803397
and if we raise that to the power of 4, we get:............................ 532,345,920,084,322,316,617,472,881
As a reference, the estimated number of stars in the universe is: 70,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
I bet you didn't think you would get an answer to that! Geeks Rule!

(though, really it should probably be IKE x 4)

ONE VISION

Queen
» One Vision

One man one goal one mission,
One heart one soul just one solution,
One flash of light yeah one god one vision.
One flesh one bone,
one true religion,
One voice one hope, one real decision.
Wowowowo gimme one vision.
No wrong no right,
I'm gonna tell you there's no black and no white,
No blood no stain,
All we need is one world wide vision.
One flesh one bone,
one true religion,
One voice one hope,
One real decision,
Wowowowo gimme one vision.
I had a dream,
When I was young,
A dream of sweet illusion,
A glimpse of hope and unity,
And visions of one sweet union,
But a cold wind blows,
And a dark rain falls,
And in my heart it shows,
Look what they've done to my dream.
So give me your hands,
Give me your hearts,
I'm ready,
There's only one direction,
One world one nation,
Yeah one vision.
No hate no fight,
Just excitation,
All through the night,
It's a celebration wowowowo yeah.
One flesh one bone,
one true religion,
One voice one hope,
One real decision.
Gimme one night,
Gimme ione hope,
One man one man,
One bar one night,
One day hey hey,
Just gimme gimme gimme
Fried chicken.
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Way to geek out, Mike. :P

So far, I like RevElation, although, it has kind of a Biblical tone to it, and Revelations always freaked me out as a kid.

I suppose "4 on the floor" doesn't inspire confidence, does it?

I didn't even think of biblicality until you mentioned it...

Rev-Elation would be more appropriate...

I suppose if we were 12 and on horseback flying, that would be rather frightful...lol

Better though than Revulsion... :rotfl

How about Bow Tie Fliers.

Ann is always revering the look of the rev to a bow tie at the fests.
