AKA Converntion 2007

Postby kiteguy » Thu, Jul 19 2007, 11:50 AM

Is anybody planning to attend the Convention in Washington this year?

The National Convention 2007 is just around the corner. I would love to attend. However, transportation costs are a tad high.

I think that maybe I could convince the "Boss" that we could afford another trip to visit her sister in Seattle on her birthday. She could visit while I was off playing. I have the "pennies" saved to cover registration, and food. (From selling some of my kite bag ingredients!!)

But the hotel bill for the week would be a lot more than a tad high.

In Des Moines I worked out a deal where three of us shared a room. Splitting the $97 per night was the only way any of us could be there. That was great!!

So, I am wondering if there is anyone here that would be willing/able to go in on an arrangement like that this year?

I don't smoke, snore, or make waves. Semi unobtrusive! (Is that a real word?)
Do you want a new kite? Build one! Enjoy it three ways, planning, construction, flying.

Assuming that the layoffs at Lucent have not caught up with me, I will be attending the AKA convention (my 14th convention). However, I splurge at convention and do not share rooms. It is an expensive luxury, but it is only once a year.
