Time for a club fly and picnic...
Bring food and games in addition to kites.
We'll meet at Perry Farms since it has facilities and is somewhat centrally located.
Hours are the usual: 9-5.
Map
Maybe it should be "fly a different kite day."
I wouldn't fly a Rev, Tom P wouldn't fly a dual...
Would could have Rok battles, maybe fly some fighter kites, (we need a fighter kite expert in our club...)
What do you guys think?

Re: Club Fly / Picnic
Not sure I could do Sep. 18th. That's pretty short notice.

Re: Club Fly / Picnic
I think he means Saturday October 18th.
September 18th is this Thursday.
It's part of that whole left vs. right thing.

I noticed that I typed that and thought I fixed it.

Re: Club Fly / Picnic
Just to be clear: OCTOBER 18th.
sigh. just once, I'd like to get one of these posts right the first time. There's hope though. I've been very good on my left/right.
And my Clockwise / Counterclockwise is getting very close. So, with practice, maybe next year I'll get my months straight. Or I'll get more sleep...

Well, on the plus side you did get the year right.

That's ok...when John called for a clockwise turn in the megafly, I totally did the opposite.

Re: Club Fly / Picnic
The picnic date works for me. I will bring my bolo toss and will have a new set of bean bag toss made up by then. A solo rematch will be slated Mike S. and I. Anybody have a crochet set? That would a blast and get more of us in on a single game.

I've had withdrawal shakes ever since reading your post! Maybe you could soften it a little ... let me fly my Rev, if I fly another kite first. Paul and Tom could fly their duals if they flew a SLK or a Rev first.
Actually, I'd like to try a ROK or a dual line, but I really do count on learning something new to practice on my Rev everytime the club gets together.
Cheers,
Tom
Re: Club Fly / Picnic
At some point in the past there was a request to have a club fly that was a picnic with activities other than flying kites. This was so non-flying spouses and kids would come on out. This is one of those sorts of club meetings.
The first one had no kite flying at all. That was too hard for some of us. So this time we'll do some of both.
[imglr=left]http://www.impressive-instant.com/perfect/alexthelion/aff/8_papasmurf.jpg[/imglr]Papa Smurf will grant Jeepster an exception to the "fly a different kite" rule.
Jeepster may fly his Rev after flying a Rok and an Indian style fighter.
Making your own fighter (see here ) will earn you IKE bonus points.
(The BASF is a good starter kite)

Oh, well. Doesn't look like this day will work for me.
Re: Club Fly / Picnic
We'll be missing the picnic. That weekend I will be in Cedar Point riding amazing coasters! I can't wait. I have wanted to go there for a while and am finally getting the chance!
