Vernon Hills Park District - Flying 4 Kids - April 26, 2008

Postby Jeff » Sat, Mar 01 2008, 05:00 PM

I wasn't really sure where this belonged...I saw it in the paper today.

It's not really a festival, but it is people flying kites, after all.

Vernon Hills

KITE FLY HONORED: The Illinois Association of Park Districts has awarded the Vernon Hills Park District the Youth License Plate Award for best promotion of the "Flying 4 KIDS" youth license plate. The district hosted Family Kite Fly last May as part of the IAPD's statewide Flying 4 Kids program. The district will hold another kite fly at 11 a.m. April 26 in Century Park near Lakeview Parkway. This is a free event and no registration is necessary. A limited number of kites will be available at the event.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

IKE is on Image too!

I bet Chicago Kite will be calling them first thing Monday morning. Dave will teach them how to make it a festival!
Add a few IKE members and it will be a festival for sure.

Unfortunately, Decatur is the same day!

Too many festivals, not enough time!
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

True, and Decatur is a big, 2 day festival. But it's pretty far south and not all IKE people may be able to make it.
Though everyone should really try to make Decatur! We need more fests down in this part of the state--it's Paul's home territory.
180GO! will be flying in Decatur under the lead of co-captain Babbman.

I can't make either one--I'll be Japan :-D
