REV's on planes

Postby Chris » Tue, Jan 15 2008, 06:27 PM

I know this was discussed somewhere, bu I can't find it. I am flying to Florida the first week of Feburary, and I wanted to know if anyone has brought a Rev or kite bag on as a carry on?

I don't have the room or desire to check another piece of luggage.
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

I have, a couple times. But it's been a few years since I last did it.
Leave the stake at home or in your checked luggage though!
The kites fit in the overhead compartment, it's just a matter of going thru security. There's no specific prohibition, so you should be ok....

Kites will be fine if they can go in the overhead bin. Some have reported problems with spools of flying line not being allowed past security.

I am buying this to get the Addiction and revs on the plane. It's a hard ski case adjustable in length. http://ecom1.sno-ski.com/product2.html

It counts as 1 piece, but at least I don't have to worry anymore about traveling with the kites. They also have a double ski case too.

I just came home with it and love it! All the kites fit in there nicely. I went to REI, a new sporting store and the sales clerk I met there was amazing. Her brother was one of the original owners of Prism. She hasn't kited in 7 years, she has been thinking about going back to it. I told her about IKE and to come join. Hoping to see her on board soon.

Can't wait for the kite party and warmer weather. :-D

That's what I use too, except I have the double-wide version.
