What do you call the style of fighter kite in our logo?
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Indian fighter.
You can get them very cheaply here.
One of these days I'm going to order a bunch and bring them to a club fly to play with.

Some of the Bandanna gang have shown up at Perry Farms festival in Kankakee/Bourbonnais IL in past years too.
Re: Fighter kite
Some folks had asked about fighters recently.
So I'm bumping this topic. As mentioned above,
http://www.one-world-trading.com/kitessmall.shtml
sells good flying kites for a couple bucks a piece.

I don't think that stuff is available anymore. If anyone has some left though, it would probably be Bruce Lambert.

Re: Fighter Kite
Yea, Boeing stopped using Orcon.
I got some at the Boeing Surplus just over a year ago. It is not Orcon, though. It is Insulfab, or some such name. It looks a lot like Orcon. It has a white coating on one side that takes printer ink very well.
I have not painted any, yet.
I made a della porta, and a squared delta with the material. I have yet to make a fighter with it. I have a skin cut, just need to finish it up.
It cost me $69 to have it shipped to my house.

Do you want a new kite? Build one! Enjoy it three ways, planning, construction, flying.

Re: Fighter Kite
I know this is very old post but I thought to reply it.
Mike, Let me know if you are planning to bring those fighters and fly to one of the festivals.
I will try to have friendly kite fight with you

Re: Fighter kite
I don't have any of those, but I've been thinking of having a fighter kite making clinic/class.
We would make them out of Ripstop nylon, carbon bows and bamboo spines. Pretty different than what you're used to, right? We wouldn't be fighting to cut lines with those, though.

Re: Fighter Kite
Here's a little something I whipped together this weekend.
Tyvek, bamboo bow & spine, coffee straws for battens, permanent markers.
I still need to test fly it.
I'll have it with me at Grand Haven.

Forgive me for rearranging the logo a bit.
Here's the backside...

Re: Fighter kite
That's awesome.
I wont be able to make Grand Haven, so perhaps I'll be able to give it a try at another fest.
