Merry Christmas!...

Postby Knoted4ever » Fri, Dec 21 2007, 11:07 PM

Merry Christmas everyone! ... before the thing is :banned:

Well, here comes winter! Maybe i'll actually be able to fly one of these days!

Best wishes from Marla and my(so-called)self to all of you!

(Eye & the blackbird are one.)

Wallace Stevens, "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird"

I
Among twenty snowy mountains,
The only moving thing
Was the eye of the blackbird.

II
I was of three minds,
Like a tree
In which there are three blackbirds.

III
The blackbird whirled in the autumn winds.
It was a small part of the pantomime.

IV
A man and a woman
Are one.
A man and a woman and a blackbird
Are one.

V
I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendoes,
The blackbird whistling
Or just after.

VI
Icicles filled the long window
With barbaric glass.
The shadow of the blackbird
Crossed it, to and fro.
The mood
Traced in the shadow
An indecipherable cause.

VII
O thin men of Haddam,
Why do you imagine golden birds?
Do you not see how the blackbird
Walks around the feet
Of the women about you?

VIII
I know noble accents
And lucid, inescapable rhythms;
But I know, too,
That the blackbird is involved
In what I know.

IX
When the blackbird flew out of sight,
It marked the edge
Of one of many circles.

X
At the sight of blackbirds
Flying in a green light,
Even the bawds of euphony
Would cry out sharply.

XI
He rode over Connecticut
In a glass coach.
Once, a fear pierced him,
In that he mistook
The shadow of his equipage
For blackbirds.

XII
The river is moving.
The blackbird must be flying.

XIII
It was evening all afternoon.
It was snowing
And it was going to snow.
The blackbird sat
In the cedar-limbs.

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.

All of us at A Wind Of Change kites would also like to wish all of the IKE members and friends a very wonderful Christmas and happy new year. Please be safe, have fun and enjoy the time with your families and loved ones....and after the presents are all ripped open and the egg nog has been downed (by the way, you can only get this stuff this time of year so drink plenty!)... then look for a comfy spot to take a good needed rest.

Then if the wind is blowing go fly that new kite! :clubfly: :clubfly: :clubfly:

Oh and if you didn't get a new kite for X-mas then fly what ya got, theres always time to start dropping hints for next years Christmas. :)

Many special thanks to the Admins of the IKE forum and club for their hard work and dedication just so that all of us can get together. May next year be as good or better than the last one.
Happy Winds!
