Time for another photo from last February's Kite Party.

Anyone know these people?

You're right, Ken.

While I'm thinking about it..........I'm sure all of you are bringing 120 foot lines to fly with iQuad or whatever mega flys happen, but don't forget..... lines at Kite Party are restricted to 75 feet except for mega flys and demos, of which there are few.

Two, three and up to four can have a good time flying together on 75s.

I always have a set of both 120ft and 75ft. So no biggie, but thanks for the heads up.

I think most everyone who is planning on going to Kite Party will be at Naperville this weekend. Let's make a point of getting together and working out a plan. It would save money if we could get everyone arriving at the same time, sharing a hotel, and maybe a car.

As far as line lengths, we may be able to have 120' lines if we are doing lots of group flying. Shenkman is talking about using both sides of the pier this year, so we may have more room.

Here's a photo from the 2006 Kite Party. Team flying before iQuad existed.

In that last photo I posted: I think that's John Barresi standing behind the guy that's 2nd from the right. He isn't flying. Just watching. And getting ideas...

JB was there in 2006. Here he is, dog-staking, and about to french kiss the love of his life (sorry Shannon).

Mike

In your team fly photo, first in line is Mark Lummas, then John Chilese (with the camera), followed by Jeanette Lummas, Iris and David Corning (standing in the back watching, members San Diego Kite Club) Ben Dantonio, Me, You, Chris Thompson and I don't know who the guy is holding his handles in front of his face. That does look like John B behind Chris. I wonder why John wasn't flying with us.

Maybe this group is what inspired John to form iQuad...........no, maybe not.

It was his and Monkey's trip to France. After flying with FLIC, etc. they decided to form a team. But after watching you and me flying in the above photo, that must have got him really motivated.

naaah, I'm surprised everyone doesn't take up flying Revs after watching us fly. We don't stop laughing and smiling the whole time we fly together.

Sunday at Belmont Shores I got laughing so hard that I couldn't begin to hold my kite still in the air. Then, that got Mark laughing. We had to stop flying before we really made a mess of it.. :rotfl :rotfl

I'm sure that anyone watching wondered what in the world was going on. What fun.

Here is my last teaser photo. Taken by John Chilese, The Godfather, at KP5. I'm flying my one of a kind, all Mylar, Prism Prophecy. This one is special because it is the cover photo in next years kite calander that John puts together.

Info here.

If you are interested in selling or trading that ugly Prophecy let me know and I will go out of my busy way to help take it off of your hands so you won't have to stare at it no more........ Maybe I can get you a kite that will at least have some kind of color on it. After all that kite is discontinued, don't you want to be updated to something new? I'm here to help you out...really.....

nice, Jim. I like the pier and palm trees in the background.
Was the record for the North American mega fly set at Kite Party?

Treasure Island, Florida is going to try and beat the record for the Mega Fly next month.
If they do, we'll have to beat it again the following month at Kite Party!
