One of the pretty reliable weather sites changed the high wind forecasts for Sunday to lower (15 and 16mph) winds. They were correct for today's winds. i'll be leaving to fly in a few minutes.

Not to worry, the families are suppose to be coming and the kites are suppose to be left behind.

Its time to meet and greet all the ones who have let us go have fun playing in the sun, with either smiles and or tears in their eyes. Plus to sit around and talk all about the great times everyone has had this season and what is to come in the future.

Bean bag and bolo toss will be there for some side fun thought.

I know, but winds like that can really affect anything you do outside.

BTW, my kites will still be in the car...you know...just in case. Never leave home without them.

We had big turnout for the picnic today. It was great seeing everyone. Can you believe it was fun even though I didn't fly a kite all day?
Thanks to Babbman for making it happen and to Ken for bringing the games and music.

I only suggested the date... it took the effort of everyone else to come. It was a beautiful day, with the exception of heavy winds and a good time to be had by all.

My only regret is that we didn't take a group picture.... which we should do more of throughout the coming years of IKE.

And it was rather discerning to not fly a kite...lol... but what really matters is that we all get along and have a good time, kites or not.. I am very pleased with the friendships that have developed from the club. I look forward to more friends joining us in the future...

All right Ken, you asked for an avatar pic, will either of these do?

I've got serious Ken and smiling Ken.

You can have the full size pics if you want, too.

Yes it was a great day for a club picnic. Could have had a little less wind, but then we all would have kite handles in hand. But mother nature made sure we were able to hang out with the friends and family members enjoying each others company. :mrblue: Even though at one point during the day it did look like people were so lost with out handles in hand. I was glad to bring the tunes and games, which helped with the lost kite hands!!

It is a shame we did not get a group shot, we have said we need to do that before, but always seem to forget about it till after. It will happen next time, when there are more members with us. But we do have Jeff's shots of the day, which look great! I dont know which to use for the avatar, after the Bears pulling the win out today maybe I should use HAPPY Ken. But I like the other one better.

Yes, it was a lot of great fun! :mrblue: Your games were great, Ken! In a real way, it was fortunate that the winds were so high that it prevented a lot of us from flying! It was so nice just to be hanging out under the canopy of the big trees, playing games, and just enjoying the conversation and the food! There's sure something very special and very magical about huge trees; they seem to be real works of art... and they convey something that bushes and little trees just don't have! ... and no, i don't mean they convey something when you blow through the acorn shells!

For next year's picnic... i hope that there's no wind!

Hey,

An arch isn't a kite? You guys are kite junkies and I won't believe that you didn't fly. Mike without a rev is like a day without my wife yelling at me. It doesn't happen.
