Or we could combine a couple of the existing suggestions into one strangely appropriate and punny one...

Quadratic Elation

I like Controlled Chaos too.

So when might we start voting? Think there are plenty to choose from.

If the order for shirts have not been put in yet. We could get a huge order in again with adding team shirts too.

Just a thought.

Team shirts will have to be a separate order anyway since they would have a different screen.
Someday we will also have to design team kites to make us look really cool. Maybe next spring.

I like Quadratic Elation too.

There's just too many things to joke about there....

22 is pretty cool but I can see trying to explain that to people...

we used to have a band called I2Y (eye-2-eye)... the explanations were never ending and got to be a pain...

Quadratic Equation... I don't know... just seems to to geeky....

I guess I'm the only geek on the team.
We can also jump on the pirate bandwagon and be something like Kite Pirates. Ken's already got the SLK for the team.

I'd love to have the name now, but I haven't seen anything, nor have come up with anything, that really fits or really seems like "THAT'S THE ONE!"

We have an entire winter yet to come and no real serious and pressing reason to pick just to have one... Once we pick something, we are stuck with it...

My vote is to let it ride for another week or 2 and maybe start thinking about more names sans Rev & quad, that would fit us better.

Quadratic Equation or Elation are ok but really seem too long for a team name IMHO and too difficult to remember...

Not to dis the public or anything, but they like slogans and things very easy to remember...

Think of iQuad (sounds like ipod), The Fire, O2, Eos, etc...

Ha! I really do like handing out the candy, but it's a bit to egocentric.

LOL is what we do most of the time.
Leading Edge is good too.
String Driver is someone's screen name already.

The Decorators are called that because they all wore painters overalls during their first show. (Evidently, painters are called decorators over there).
You do just get used to a name, no matter what it is.
iQuad is actually kind of silly if you think about it. There are a million iWhatever products out there.

lol.. it may be silly but it's universal among the kiting community now and their logo and everything else is working well for them... the only thing I am afraid of is that they will get sued by Apple...

Sometimes, it's the silliest of names that are the best, easiest to remember and associate well with what they represent...

If I was forced to make a choice, I would have to say that Leading Edge is the best of all of them right now.

Or is that Bleeding Edge...

LOLKites!

Internet geeks will get it.

I think it's pretty hilarious, but it would go over most folks' heads.

I agree, that's my point. Even their logo is kinda old school.

I think we all have very different ideas of what we would like in a name.

I've changed my mind on Leading Edge. With further thought, it's kind of ordinary.

If we become 180 Go!, We'd have to learn to dance like OK Go!

I think LOL has reached the mainstream. My Mom even knows what it means, and she doesn't have a computer nor has she ever used one (much to my shame).

LOLKites is a play on LOLCats. It's a bit more specific. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcats

You know, thinking back to one of the original suggestions, Herding Kittens...that never quite sounded right to me. I had heard the phrase "herding cats" so I guess kittens changed the tone, but now, Herding Kites is not too far off.

And now we've come full circle.

If we did choose a name like 180 Go! (my new favorite), we might want to include a sport kite education demo as part of our shtick.
We could demonstrate the Revolution's basic abilities, demo some dual line, and do an explanation of team flying, including calling 180 Go! of course. Then we break into an hour of lessons. Might be nice for festivals and I'm sure whoever is vending kites would love it.

About the name:
180 Go! has some excitement to it. And there's a little inside knowledge to the name that's easy to learn and people like having inside knowledge that they can share with their friends/kids/spouse while watching us.
