Re: 120' lines
Hey Babbman, if you sell half to me, I will supply the sleeving materials and walk you though the process.
Its not really that hard, just a little time consuming, will need some good lenght of room to string in out too.

Re: 120' lines
Even after stretching the lines they will still stretch some more when you fly in 30 mph winds
Then reverse top and bottom lines and fly some more.
Then even up the lines.
After the last club fly the top lines on my 120' gained an additional 4".
Instructions in brief:
The secret is to make the sleeving material exactly the same length. Stretch the lines by pulling. Make a mark for the length of the line minus the sleeve loop. Slide the sleeving material down so the bottom hits your mark. Tie an overhand knot at the top of the sleeving to keep it from slipping. Make a loop and tie another overhand knot to complete it. The bottom of the sleeving should still be at the mark. The amount taking up by the knots will be the same for all the lines, so it doesn't matter where the knots fall. Leave some extra spectra hanging out until you flown the set a few times. Makes it easier to grab and adjust later.

Re: 120' lines
finally got my 120' line together... ended up having to go out to my field to finish them up as I just don't have any room here at the house (inside or out) to lay them out. The yellow neon sleeving that Dave sent me looks very pretty....
We had enough wind to fly my vented today so I put it up.... stretched the top lines out about 3 inches... then the wind died out...
Jeezzz, those lines seem long after flying exclusively on 75's for the last month....

Re: 120' lines
Yeah, but once you get used to them, the 75's look really short!
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Re: 120' lines
They also make it easier to hold a position in the sky. The lines are so stretchy they absorb a lot of the gusts.
Fly the 75' lines for speed and snappy moves, the 120' for slower more precise looking moves.
The lines we flew in the gusty winds at the last club fly also stretched around 3 inches on top.
So now we need to swap the lines top to bottom to stretch out the other pair before evening them up.

Re: 120' lines
I just posted a good example of flying on 120' lines in the video/quad section.
Re: 120' lines
I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a set of 120' lines today.

Re: 120' lines
I think both Ken and Babbman have both bought 1000' bulk line from Dave. Maybe they would sell you their extra line. Or you could pay them to make you up a lineset. Or perhaps, what might be more your way of doing things, maybe you could trade some computer hardware/expertise for a line set.

I noticed this today at lunch time... I was able to do quite a few things I've been having trouble doing with 75' lines...
Then again, maybe practice is what's allowed me to do them..
I like the 120's... lots...

Re: 120' lines
Well Chris B. Thanks for the offer but now that my daughter Ashley has flown the RevII she claims it is HER first Rev. I said OK (with a proud tear in my eye). I'll have to buy a set from someone. David is ordering the vented for me. He didn't ask me which color so I guess fate will decide.

Re: 120' Lines
Is someone in the club going to be building a standard lineset? 120' 90# I'm guessing will be the standard. Will they be available to order, and how much, don't forget your labor cost!
Oooh, black/red linesets, club color code.

Re: 120' lines
no plans for that right now, though if someone wants to step up, go for it!
Another option would be to go to Dave. He might be able to get Shanti to make up some.
I think most folks have ordered bulk line and made their own.
Black and red line would be very cool. No one makes colored line though.

Re: 120' Lines
Someone must make colored line, look at paraglider risers, color coded for quick reference, so you don't accidently grab your 'A' lines instead of brake lines...
If not that then a bucket with dye will fix'em right up.

Re: 120' lines
There are only two manufacturers of spectra kite line in the USA and it seems that one of them may be out of business.
Shanti is still going, but I've been told by Revolution that Laser Pro is out of business. However, the new iQuad team lists Laser Pro as their sponsor, so who knows?
Sperry used to make a blue colored line. I never had any, but I think it was kinda stretchy. Even though some of their line is still around, I don't know if they are still in business either.
The dye would be interesting to try. Spectra is basically plastic so coming up with the right dye that would stick and not remove the stuff they add for slipperyness might be tricky.

Re: 120' Lines
I know rain + grass = green line when it gets dragged, and for a nice camo effect add a little mud to the mix.
But I bet you're right, we'd probably end up with grey and pink line...
