I'll be there, of course. By 9 am.
Let's keep the place the same. Many people know where it is and there is food nearby.

Should we run into trouble, we can try Hawkins Park. Tom, we need directions. Is it near Limestone park?

I'll be there first thing in the AM!
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

i'll probably be there fairly early.

Hawkins Park, by the way, is the same place as Limestone Park; it's the only park in Limestone. i posted it in the Forum Maps Flying Fields section quite some time ago. The Bourbonnais soccer fields are also very nice... and if things don't work out there... there are a couple of nice fields very nearby to it (one nice field is south of it, a bit south of Rt. 102 in the Plum Creek area).

Wind forecasts for Sunday look pretty dismal at this point... barely 6mph and I've always found the forecasts to be overly optimistic..

Do we have any plans for a 'rain' day should the winds be useless?

Just wondering

David,
anyone can try out. :-D

Everyone trying out, review the stuff in the first post. Be sure to try to get a handle on what to do for the To the Edges, Blender, Benefits, Pinwheel and Radar.
If you have one of those FRS radio/walkie talkies with headphones/earphones, bring it along. It will help to save my voice!

It's too early to pay attention to the forecasts, but if there is a wind/rain problem I'll post on Saturday night. I guess the rain date will be the following Sunday.

I'm coming! I don't crash kites, can't get it off the ground to crash into anyone. But I am looking forward to meeting everyone and watching. 9 am though, yikes, you are a cruel one. Is it about 2 hours from NW burbs of Chicago?

I made that drive a couple weeks ago. 2 hours almost exactly for me. I think you might be able to do about 30 minutes better, depending on traffic.

Roxy,
I'm looking forward to meeting you as well. You can show up any time, we'll be there all day. There's usually people there from 8 to 5. We often go grab dinner together before driving our separate ways home.

Jeff, are you coming down this weekend? (Assuming the wind forecast improves)

I'm afraid not; not this time. If I really thought I was ready for performing with a team this year, I'd probably be able to work it out, but I have to ration out my "away-all-day" days.

Well, I have some good news/ bad news on the try out.

My wife, who works for Midwest Airlines, won tickets for the airline's founders suite at Miller Park for this Sundays game vs. the Giants. Includes a limo ride to and from the game.

Bad news. We leave at 11 AM so I can't make it to the try out. :(

My only hope is that the game may be moved to a latter, prime time, start if Bonds gets closer to the home run record. :censored:

Anyway, I'll keep practicing :weight: and will see you all in Milwaukee for the Mega Fly with iQuad in September. :revspin:

What is the best site to check the wind?

If the wind is decent I'll be out around 1 too.

Has the location changed? Or are these still the right directions?

>>It's at the corner of Bethel Dr. and Career Center Rd. in Bourbonnais.

It is not far from Perry Farm. Take Interstate 57 to Bourbonnais to Rt. 50; go south on Rt.50 to the first big set of lights (big intersection) and go west on Armour Rd. Keep going west past a stop sign and a small set of lights or two and get to the first big intersection (which is North Convent St. or also called Routes 45/52)... turn right (north) on N. Convent (there's a gas station on your left as you are about to turn right onto Convent, by the way); go a few blocks north (there will, to your right, be a small field and suddenly a road going to a small set of stores)... directly opposite of that (as you are going north on Convent) is Bethel Dr. (to your left); take Bethel Dr. west, going past a couple of stop signs. Then, as you continue to go west on Bethel... look for the soccer fields on your left, before you get to Career Center Rd.<<

Kwel beans, hope the winds show up. I will be there.

If any one has an I-pod and would like to bring it. I will have the radio and cords to plug it into, for my jukebox is still down.  If not we will still have the radio and commercials to fly to.

Who will be out there earlier? Still 9ish?

See you out in Milwaukee in sept. Team Trejo. 8)
