Jeff.. I know what you mean... today I was out from 6-9am, 1-3pm and 7-9pm.
Hot as hell and winds from the west, while strong, were gusty and inconsistent. Tonight, Chris and I got together and the winds had calmed and while very light, made flying follows pretty easy. We also worked on some speed control and threw lights on the kites for some fun... Chris's black 1.5 is great looking, BTW.
Something I believe is that having to learn to fly and learn to control in the crappy winds that the midwest provides us can only help us to be better fliers when we do get good winds...
