The magnificent book of kites by Maxwell Eden can often be found in bookstores like Borders or Barnes and Noble.
I have a copy but it would be hard to get to you in time.

I think the banners would be great. It might be nice if they were red and black to give a unifying theme to our club. At large festivals there can be many clubs and I think the ones that have a unifying color or theme look more like a club vs. some guy putting up a lot of banners.

Mike... that was my thought also... I've been making so much stuff for myself but if we are going to have a presence at these festivals, then we should REALLY have an IKE presence...

I think I'll sit down and design something preliminary... it would be nice to have a common theme and be able to personalize it a bit as Chris and I were discussing a little while ago...

I'll post a design (everyone please feel free to contribute also) and we can all finalize it... what cha all think?

Sounds good. Start a new thread with your design. When I made the logo, I had making it an easy applique in mind, but if we don't' use the logo, at least "IKE" is pretty easy!
With the temperatures we have been having lately, maybe those Penguin banners folks are making at MAKR would be appropriate...

So who went to FishCreek? How was it, I had off and actually was going to go but the temps were just too crazy. I ended up totally frustrated anyhow. I made a banneer for my cousin who retired from the Tosa FD. It was working pretty good but I had to attempt their logo twice and being so detailed and bringing it up to 17" to fit the banner was just too musch hard sewing so after 28 hours I just couldn't finish what I wanted to. I still made it with his rank and name and added the union badge which worked out fine, but, I was so p*ss*d not to finish it as I wanted to. It was excellent though as a signature banner. All of his guests signed it and the people liked it but I was just bummed. So before you promise a signature banner just make sure your ready for the work.

That's a neat idea Banshee. The signature banner.

Banshee I am sure your cousin love the banner even if it was not just the way you were hoping for it to come out.

Nice way to put it Draftnik, and we all know...

It was cold, really, really cold (long story about this phrase, sometime other than one in the morning.)

Good ice, not many spectators.

Did I say: It was cold, really, really cold.
