Contemplating flying this weekend . . .
So I'm feeling pretty crappy today, but if I feel better by the weekend, and the weather is good, I might get out to fly. Finished the swallowtail delta from UMake, so I'd like to get that in the air. Any takers?

Yeah, right now that's looking better for weather in the afternoon, but the forecast has been back & forth on precip.

I'll probably be at STC East Side Sport Complex (It is open.) at about 1:30 this afternoon for about an hour if I'm by my lonesome.
I can possibly be talked into a change of location if anyone has suggestions and wants to meet.

Where was da rest o yuz guys?
Steve had the maiden flight of his UMake made swallowtail delta. Once aloft it was a strong flyer and never came down until the end of the day.
Then my wife, Karen showed up and grabbed my camera. DuKane style flying!
Wind generally about 10 to 15 mph.

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it. Lots of hemming to make the tails.

That's the first thing that occurred to me when I saw those long tails !

40 feet x 2 x 2 sides. 160 feet of hemming. It went surprisingly quickly - I didn't prefold or anything, just started out holding the fabric & sewing. It's not perfect, but it's done (and I'm not competing in any kite building competitions). Done is better than perfect for the kites I build.

Same here

Welcome to the 100' kite club. The stitching always looks good when the kite is 100 feet up!
