spell checker

Postby Chris » Sat, Nov 04 2006, 11:16 AM

Is there a spell checker in these forums? If not can we get one, I am a lousy speller, and don't have a dictionary. I'm getting tired of typing words in web searches for spellings :nerd:

so funny that this topic came up...

I just installed Firefox 2.0 and I was mentioning to my wife that the best feature of the new browser is the built in spell checker...

So there you are... put in Firefox 2.0 and you are a spelling bee loser no more...

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I should have clarified... the spell checker is built into firefox in that misspelled words are now underlined in red as you mistype them.

And Chris, yes, I almost forgot that the Google toolbar has a spell checker built in but you have to push a button to do it... I'm too used to Word underlining my mistakes...

There is a spell check tool in my google toolbar, I don't think I've ever used it so I couldn't tell you how it works.

I use MS Word so often that I have come to depend on having my mistakes underlined as I type. That's won of the reasons I am loving the new version of Firefox as they are all underlined in red as I finger fumble along...

or in my case, I tend to leave words out when typing. They are in my head but not on the page. Maybe if I had a USB port in my forehead that I could connect to the PC or something. Actually, probably blue-tooth would better as wireless would be easier. But, oh man, with wireless I'd have to worry about hackers and spammers jumping into my brain which is already a mess to begin with...
