Flying on Lake Mich?

Postby luke.moore » Wed, Apr 29 2015, 06:40 PM

Has anyone ever flown out of the back of a boat? I'm guessing since you can pull people around, you can pull a kite around?

Can someone move this to the general discussion area? Sorry, wasn't paying attention when I started the post.

As you can see in the video that Jay posted, it's been done. There also used a resort in Florida that did a show with people flying stacks off the back of jet boats.
The trick is launching the kite, and if you crash in the water, recovering the kite :)

I was kinda trying to figure a way to launch and i can probably pull that off with some help on shore, but landing and recovery may be harder. We'll see how it goes.

That or fly on short lines and throw it out from the boat to start, and do a catch when the boat comes to a stop.
I wouldn't want to fly on short lines if the boat is going fast though.

I'll just do that. Wait, that's not a skill set i possess yet. I'll work on it before then, but I'm a Rev noob. Can you catch and throw duals?
