Locations of kite fields around the Chicago area

Postby TOMKLU » Sun, Aug 10 2014, 11:59 AM

I will be visiting relatives in Chicago the 1st week of October. A couple have dual line kites and no experience, I'm bringing a couple of Revs. I was looking for some recommended places to fly around the West and South-West suburbs.
Thank You

Chicago is pretty big . . . whereabouts in the West / Southwest suburbs?

There's an IKE map link in the upper right hand corner of the page that has a bunch of fields marked. West suburbs, I like the St. Charles east side sports complex (not sure if it's on the map yet) and also Busse Woods. I haven't flown in the southwest suburbs, unless you count the southern side of Naperville as southwest . . . .

Yeah. West South-west covers a huge area for Chicagoland. You probably don't want to drive more than 15 minutes I'm guessing. If you could narrow it down some.

You might have good luck using google maps to look up the park districts or school districts around where you'll be. Look for wide open parks on the screen.
