November club fly (or two)?
Thought I'd get this started . . . .
We have a few people suggesting next weekend for a club fly. I haven't checked with the wife yet . . . . but I do know we have a commitment the evening of the 2nd, so I need to be back home by late afternoon. Sunday, I don't know yet.
Later in the month - Thanksgiving fly? Who is around that week?

I'd be interested in something ... I'm not sure what my schedule looks like just yet though...

Next weekend is ok. Thanksgiving weekend is tough. Maybe during thanksgiving week, but won't know until we get closer.

I'm off to Germany for a few days on Sunday, I'm not sure what Saturday looks like yet, but the possibility exists... the rest of the weekends in November I think are pretty good.

How about Sunday, November 10th.

By the way I was talking about thanksgiving week.

November 10th is good for me too.
I'm hoping to have a set of the New York Minute kites by then.
It's a set of 4 kites, with various percentages of venting. According to Rev:
1. standard sail
2. 20% vent / perfect for bumpy light winds *3 to 6 mph*
3. 42% vent (9% over a midvent) / *6 to 10 mph*
3. 70% vent (between a full vent and extra vent) HIGH WIND
I'll use that to lure you Chicago folks down south :)

Sounds exciting! South = Champaign or Kankakee or Pontiac? Challenge for me with the 10th is that I'm probably camping with David the night of the 9th. Doesn't mean impossible, but it probably means I can't be there early.

Re: November club fly (or two)?
If I'm tracking correctly, we have suggestions for:
- Nov 2 (Swannie & tmadz) (I have to be home by late afternoon)
- Nov 10 (Mike K.+Rose - downstate) (Swannie available, I think) (probably camping on the 9th, but possible for me)
- Thanksgiving week - (zero1199) (TBD on my availability, but I like this week right now)
I haven't talked to the wife yet . . . . so all is subject to clearance . . . .
(Edited for Swannie on the 10th)

I could probably do the 10th ... I think.
Re: November club fly (or two)?
I can't do Thanksgiving.
The kites are still be assembled, so I can't promise anything, but Ben hopes to get them here by then.
Thanks to 180GO! being a sponsored team we'll get the first ones off the assembly line and you guys will the first to play with them.
My Preference is Champaign for the south fly.

The 10th is a possibility for me. I have to check at home first.

Are you going to try out your new VTD? :)

Re: November club fly (or two)?
So . . . what do we think about:
November 2nd @ Sugar Grove or St. Charles (closer to Say)
November 10th @ Champaign
Thankgiving week - date(s) and location TBD

Re: November club fly (or two)?
I think I could do the 2nd. St Charles sounds good. I think the fields will be open. Say?

Re: November club fly (or two)?
If my wife is working Saturday (and she probably is going to work), then I need to drop off/pick up my son at a couple different things in the morning. I'll have a chat with some friends to see if they can pick him up for me (since their kids are going to the same activities). For me, late morning or early afternoon are probably best, and I can probably fly for 2-4 hours.
Re: November club fly (or two)?
Right now, I think I have flexibility during the day.
