Michigan kite collection for sale

Postby KiteVoice » Thu, Sep 12 2013, 08:05 AM

Wait ... before I post this message, someone grab hold of goestoeleven and tie him to a chair or something ...

OK, ready?

John and Suzette Arnold of the Tri-State Wind Riders Kite Club in Coldwater, Mich. are helping a fellow club member liquidate his kite collection. The collection’s owner has apparently developed some serious medical issues that have resulted in significant financial hardship.

John and Suzette are still inventorying the collection so they don’t yet have a list to publish. But if there’s something in particular that you’re looking for, they welcome you to contact them and they’ll check the collection for it.

The collection includes fighters, single lines, dual lines and quad lines as well as many "collectibles" from past AKA conventions. As Suzette put it, “there’s a lot of everything.” Some items are new in their bags, un-flown.

You can reach John and Suzette via the Facebook page above, or PM me for their email address (I fear putting it here, lest doing so increase the amount of robo-spam they receive).

I'm not a Facebook user, but fortunately, the Tri-State Wind Riders' Facebook page is viewable by people who don't have Facebook accounts. I just noticed that John Arnold has begun posting photos of available kites on that Facebook page.

Guilty.

However, I seem to be resisting both this sale, and the Empty Spaces one. It's OK. Surprisingly, while some of the kites in both sales are interesting, I'm just not that fired up at the moment to go get anything new (to me). At first, I was drooling over the Empty Spaces sale list, but my interest level fell off when kite after kite I inquired about had already been sold, and the kites that are left are either not striking me as screaming bargains, or I already have similar kites in my collection. The stuff I really wanted is long gone, so that's sort of put me off buying anything in the near term from either collection.

That, and I had a TON of bills come due in late August / early September. Oops.
