Now that I know Swannie's in my backyard, I'll be able to schedule a fly more often. Maybe even have some skills before the retreat.

Feel free to ping me any time. I can't guarantee I will be free, but I can certainly be tempted to go fly. Sugar Grove is not that far, nor is St Charles. Get illescasd and zero1199 also in addition to swannie! Maybe makatakam.

We're probably going to have to change hotels. The Hilton is much more expensive this year.
I'm thinking this Best Western:
http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern ... Code=15095
Recent reviews look good enough and the location is good. It's nearer to the beach and restaurants than other hotels. It also includes breakfast.

We probably don't have enough people to get a good rate on a block of rooms, but I'll call tomorrow.

I'm still waiting for hotel's final bit of paperwork.
But the price of the rooms at the Best Western Indian Oak will be:

Std. Doubles Non Smk $89.99
Lakeview King Non Smk $99.99
Lakeview 2 Queens Non Smk $109.99

I'll post back here with instructions on getting the room rate once it's finalized.

I've got my annual golf outing on the retreat weekend in, Michigan City, Indiana.

We usually golf Friday and Saturday, and travel Sunday. I may be able, depending on my flight, to come to the Dunes on Sunday.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

IKE is on Image too!

Agreed. I think you need to book a LATE return flight. Plus, golf only takes four or five hours . . . . what are you going to do with the rest of the day? Oh yeah, never mind . . .

Nice work, Mike. Those rates are better than AARP rates!

Here's the hotel info:
We will be staying at the Best Western Indian Oaks.
To get the following rates you must call (219) 926-2200 or toll free 800-552- 4232.
Tell them you are calling for the group rate for "kite flying day" (I didn't come up with that name)

The date for the room is:
Saturday Sept 21, 2013
and the rates are:
Std. 2 Doubles Non Smk : $89.99
Lakeview King Non Smk : $99.99
Lakeview 2 Queens Non Smk : $109.99

Also, you have to reserve the room before September 1st to get these rates
And finally, to cancel the rooms, you will have to give 48 hours notice.

How?/When? I have been trying for three weeks to get a site for Friday night and Saturday and to no avail! I am on a call list, but not much hope, they said call Friday for cancellations :0(

Glad I live close.

UH OH!!!!! I did not think the camp sites would be booked after this weekend! I am a deep in the forest camper.. Hike in 6-10miles, I set up a hammock and a tarp and am good to go. i haven't car camped in almost 30yrs. Just figured I'd get the family into camping now that my youngest may enjoy it. My Bad! May need to get on the horn and get a room tomorrow!

If not i'm only an hour away, last year worked out well. One day alone and the other with the family.
