3rd annual IKE Kite retreat! September 21st / 22nd

Steve,
Your quote, "Btw, I like all the kites from Rev, including the EXP. I'd love a B-Pro set, but I am happy with all my kites" is what I have been using to slow down on my kite acquisitions.

. . . . yeah . . . about the "slow down" part . . . . not really getting that bit . . . . OK, maybe a little bit. Well, I really only need one more kite . . . at any given time . . .

As it turns out, our alma mater has offered free club seats to a home football game Sep. 28, so I'm out for that day and won't need a room. If I'm there at all, it'll be Sunday morning.

Unless you plan on having a week-long tailgating party, you could probably still make the retreat :)

LOL! Why was my brain convinced the retreat is 28/29? It says 21/22 right up there ^^^

I would consider that if i can get the weekend off. We have been trying to camp at warren dunes but my schedule is crazy. i'd say count me in on that one!
Re: 3rd annual IKE Kite retreat! September 21st / 22nd
Just to be clear, the IKE retreat has been traditionally held at the Indiana Dunes State Park. The location is shown at the maps link found at the top of every page.

Well Aware of that Mike. I visited the campground there last time Trigger and I Flew. It is a very nice facility, with clean showers and bathroom facilities. just thought it would be a great way to spend the weekend enjoying both hobbies with the family. I am going to wait until closer to the weekend to see what the weather is bringing as the wife is not a happy camper in bad weather!! Grand Haven was 32 degrees at night with 48 mph winds!! I heard the word "Hotel" every night.

I'd probably consider camping if the weather is good, although I'm sure my wife would vote hotel if she comes along this year. I camped with my son at a state park north of Grand Haven (not on the beach) last year for GLKF, and we had a good time (except for when he barfed in the tent at 2 am).

got the weekend off! now its time to look for a tent. My kids set my tent up in the living room and the pet rabbit we had chewed through it.

Did that pet rabbit you had turn into a delicious dinner you had?
The dunes campground is a really nice one. We have camped there before. We also found out the hard way that alcohol is prohibited. OOOPS!

Consider me 80%. Any idea on a room rate yet?

Anne and I should be able to go and therefore a hotel room would be nice. We didn't make it last year so really want to do it this year.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it, but I've decided to buy the EXP anyway. I hope to be able to go.
Now that I know Swannie's in my backyard, I'll be able to schedule a fly more often. Maybe even have some skills before the retreat.
