As of Oct. 12, the Oct. 14 forecast looks pretty bad. I'll post day-of updates on http://www.hoosierkite.org.

Oct. 14 forecast as of Oct. 12: "Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%."

Didn't see it. Got the URL?

I'm no Ben Franklin (although one of my great grandfathers was named after him), so if there's lightning, I'm not going to be anywhere near a flying line! If we fly, you can bet I'll have the radar app on my phone running. Even if the showers and storms bypass the flying field, I'm concerned about the winds. I don't think there's anything in my bag that can stand up to 35 MPH gusts!

Good luck with the fly, and I hope the weather works out. I'm not sure I'm going to get out this weekend to fly (locally), but I hope maybe I will for a bit late Saturday (if the weather is OK).

Originally WKC had an OSOW event scheduled in Fitchburg WI... Canceled due to rain, but a few showed-up to pacify the kids! Though no flying!

Seeing Fitchburg was canceled two of us made a quick-OSOW-fly at Vets park (photos posted on FB)!

Though not the best of conditions... WE FLEW!

Good for you - tornado warnings, rain, and cub scouting activities kept me out of the air today . . .

No way we could fly, even though the sun shined for part of the afternoon. Sustained wind of 20 MPH with gusts to 45. We'll probably try again this coming Sunday, even though it won't officially be OSOW day.
