Indiana Fun Fly 10/6: Lunch Provided!

Postby KiteVoice » Mon, Oct 01 2012, 02:35 PM

This is too far for most of you Illinois folks, but the Ohio and Michigan members might be interested. The 3M plant in Hartford City, Indiana, is celebrating an anniversary this Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 and invited the Hoosier Kitefliers Society to host a fun fly at the plant in conjunction with the festivities. We'll be flying from approximately 10 a.m. (maybe earlier) to 4 p.m. and 3M is buying lunch for the kite fliers!

In addition to putting kites in the sky, HKS will run a kite-making workshop for kids (plastic and wooden-dowel sled kites) from 10 a.m. to noon.

My lovely wife and I plan to be there until right after lunch, then we'll head to nearby Muncie for a football game at our alma mater, Ball State University.

Here's a link to a Google map of the 3M plant's location.

As is the case with all HKS events, all IKE people are always welcome!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Too far from here, in Milwaukee, too... the Wisconsin Kiters Club is also holding a Fun-Fly in Door County WI on that day (and Sunday too).

Hope your (and our) Fun-Flys are WINDerFULL, not to mention warm!?

No problem. It would be at least a 4.5 hour drive from Wheaton ... a heck of a haul for a one-day event!
