The Quad-Squad is up and flying!

Postby Jynx » Mon, Nov 14 2011, 11:47 PM

It's Official... Introducing our Wisconsin quad-line team!

:revspin:QUAD-SQUAD :revspin: is based in Veterans Park at the Milwaukee Lakefront.

Though we're not ready for any festival performances as yet... we've begun some team flying and this past Sunday we actually had a number of spectators, though we're not quite sure if they were smiling or laughing at our routines.

8 members and counting, we're already planning on more weekend team practices once spring rolls around.

Please be (very) patient with our progress as most fliers are new to quad-line flying (7 started this year)... but all have the energy and willingness to learn and, more importantly, we're having such a great time!

Wow, that's great Jynx! You are a one-person dark-side recruiting machine!

Post up sometime when you are getting together if you'd be interested in having some Illinois quad line flyers join you in Milwaukee. A few weeks back I was flying with some other IKE members, and we said we should make a road trip up there to visit you some weekend. Or, feel free to bring your crew to Northerly this weekend (assuming the weather holds and we have a club fly). Be great to see your QUAD SQUAD!!  :welcome:

Awesome! That's very exciting.
As Steve said, let us know if you want some IKE folks to come up this spring.

:thanks: Phewww....Thanks for the offer as I already promised the 'squad' that you guys would support and help us (me) tune our team skills! ...I count on your assistance!!!!!!!

I think it'll be spring before we're organized but in the meantime please keep us in mind for a future get together in Milwaukee!

It's so exciting to see the squad's interest in learning. When departing on Sunday everyone was so appreciative and longing for our next meet! :-D

All depends on the conditions... each time we get together, when departing, we laugh and say "see you next year!" (with the exception of Chad who refuses to say that and smiles and says "see you next time!") We've been saying that the past 4 or 5 times... (Chad was right) but it's beginning to be a more realistic and unfortunate statement.

We have a 'who shows - shows' arrangement... My rule of thumb is if it's 45-50+ degrees I'll be there! ....so until the weekend arrives??

Today I spent a couple of hours flying at our local (Nathan Hale) high school athletic field (a first time there for me). As school let-out I had some kids approach me and ask about kiting. I told them to tell their PE teacher to get ahold of me and I'd come and give a demo... they were excited! We'll see if it materializes (I worked there as a liaison officer 15 years ago).

Well, if you want some "south of the border" company coming up there, let us know before the weekend is already happening. This weekend I think we're going to fly at Northerly in Chicago if the weather is OK, so maybe after Thanksgiving? I've been known to hop in the car for the 1:20 ride to Kankakee, so 1:45 to Veterans is not that different. I haven't quite built up to the 3 hours to Champaign/Charleston yet . . . . but one of these days it'll happen.
