I'll be bringing some unusual quad line kites.
And I'll bring my Roks so we can throw in a rok battle or two.

Have you been hanging out with Makatakam? I'm willing to bet he'll have a few unusual and unique quads as well :-D

Odis and I are planning on attending. We will be staying at a different hotel though that doesn't cost as much per night. The only thing that would keep us from attending is if Odis has to work that weekend. Hope to see everyone we have already met and also hope to meet more of the IKE communtiy.

:thanks: :SLKani:
Thanks for the invite,

Jamie

Jamie & Odis: Great!
goestoeleven: my quads will be commercial ones. Well, maybe a couple homemade ones. I'll have to hunt around for them.

. . . . I can't attend the retreat weekend due to work. :( I have to travel out of town over the weekend, and this trip is not going to get postponed again no matter how many hints I drop to my customer. Hope you all have a great time! Wish I could be there.

Looking forward to this coming weekend :LogoRevAni: retreat! ...(Arriving later on Friday night)

FYI: My son, Ross, and his girlfriend Carrie will be coming too.

I called the hotel (to change my room reservations to a 2-bed room) and they stated that they were filled and had no vacancies. I then checked on-line and made reservations (as it showed openings) and called the hotel back and discussed the issue with the employee I had spoken to 5 minutes earlier. He said that his computer still showed NO vacancies but that my NEW reservation is confirmed! (?? ??)

Any-who... I am keeping my original reservation just in case someone else needs a room and has a problem reserving one.

SO... If anyone out there doesn't already have a room, and needs one... let me know! If I don't hear from anyone by Thursday morning I will cancel my first reservation (which was for one king, for Friday and Saturday night).

See ya later...Gators!

I'm changing my hotel reservation for just Saturday night. I'm aiming to hit the dunes on Saturday morning around 10am.

David & Jeff: Rosey is shipping me your 180GO! jackets and I should have them Saturday morning at the dunes. If you want to come pick them up...
(Mikey, I'll have yours too)

I am in. Rather, we are in... My wife & I. We're planning on finding a hotel Friday night, then coming back Saturday night. As this is our 1st time, I know nothing, much less anyone. We are looking forward to meeting everyone. Please forward any additional information I may need. Such as where to meet,,, anything specific to bring, etc.

My cell is 312 952 1250
:thanks:

Glad we'll get to meet!
It looks like all those attending mostly fly quad line kites, so you'll be learning to fly one of my quads for sure.

This is our first retreat, so its pretty casual. I would bring any & all kites you would like to fly. As well as snacks, sunscreen, etc.

The first page of this thread has a map, we'll meet near there. Look for kites in the sky! I'm aiming to be there close to 10am on Saturday. I'll send you my cell phone in case there's a mixup.

Anyone who's been to the dunes: is there food available?

I think they have food. I know they do during the summer, just not shure it will still be open. I will see if I can find out. Weather is going to be good! Can't wait!

And look for people wearing red IKE t-shirts. Some of us will probably be wearing one.

Hope you all had a great day of flying today . . . I've been clicking "Next" on a couple servers every 20-90 minutes for the last 33 hours . . . with a break for a few hours, but no flying . . . . I have two handles, a line set and two kites sitting next to me for the last 15 hours . . . but no joy for me.

I'd much rather be on the beach flying kites with IKE. Hope it was a great retreat, and I expect to see some pix! Maybe I'll get to fly tomorrow . . . .

Today was fun, and we did get to fly. Problem was the opposite of the usual kite issues. We had winds averaging about 33 mph. We had all the extra vents out. We wrapped up early and spent the rest of the day goofing off. Tomorrow is going to be about perfect. 10 mph off the water. Slight chance of rain. I am not too worried about that. Looking forward to it. Be on the beach around 10.
