It would be alot more fun if it was like the pc program Lego offers. With it you can build something, then order the set you made. They actually print an image on the box also. (i think anyhow) The only down side, they only offer about 10-20% of the pieces they actually produce. SO it limits you a bit. If it was more like 60% it would be awesome. And very time consuming. I think it is a simpler version of the software the factory builders use.

My son David LOVES Lego Digital Designer. I think you're right, it's a simplified version of the program the master builders use. They've added more bricks in the latest version. And very cool that you can order your creations in a custom box. The only downside is the cost if you order your creation from them - it's pretty high (per brick) when you get right down to it.

You can buy bricks for just a little bit more at Home Depot. They're a 100 times larger, but unfortunately, 1000 times heavier! :rotfl
