Back To Building ! - Upcomming Group Builds

Postby Mux11 » Tue, Oct 05 2010, 11:38 AM

Hope everyone is well rested and ready for some group building!
We have talked about this and that and with a good list of projects to take on there are a couple details to take care of. Picking Dates and projects.
Is there any interest in looking at 10/23.24?

Here is a short list of some of the things we talked about.

IKE Mimi - November 21st :)
Fled - ROK - Pocket Sled
Banners
Mini-Mock (I think Tom C. could show us a lot on this one)
Spin Sock

Couple other questions -
Do you like having one person get materials? or would you rather bring your own?
If someone put a kit together would you be willing to purchase? ie Steve from KB sells the Fled Kite in a kit for $50, an Achtkant Train Kit for $80
Im guessing that the ROK as a kit would be close to $20 ish for the materials.

What did I miss that you would like to build?

Lets get the conversations going and build something.

We've done a Rok class, but if enough people want to do it again (or haven't done it before) we could do another.
A group Mimi build would be good too, though I think I can repair my existing Mimi enough to make it usable again.

What about coming up with some sort of large inflatable. Like an Octopus or Gecko, but not one of those. Something in the 30' long range.
The European festivals have lots of home-made kites of that sort, it must be doable. Anyone interested in trying to puzzle one out?

I am planning on building a mini mock this winter but mid October I am out of state.. I would want to build from my current KB sample pack.. preferably spar less but I would build a sail for a spared kite then save my penny's for spars later..

I'm up for a Rok. I need to have my own to do battle without Lady Rok. She's been good to me, but it is time to move on.

I'm fine with a kit or someone else providing fabric.

Weekend of 23rd and 24th is busy for me.

what would the interest of a sewing weekend be?
Two days - a couple projects that are easy enough to finish in the time we have (ok so not sewing like i do :) )

would there be any interest?

Other wise can we pick a couple dates for the comming months?

Nov - 21
Dec - 18 or 19
Jan - 15 or 16
Feb - 5 or 6 or 26/27

Let me know what you think - no really
