More on the new Revolution

Postby Mike » Sun, Dec 10 2006, 07:53 PM

These postings were over on the Revolution site:
First, by John Mitchell of Germany:

I was fortunate to be at Mission Bay in San Diego today, when Joe Hadzicki and Ben brought out one of their experimental Revolutions.
At first glance, it looks like a REV 1.5 but has some dimension changes which I will not elaborate on here.
I flew it for a bit to get my personal impression. You thought the REV 1.5 was nice. This one is as sweet as they come. The precision is super. The floats are super. It even flies in much lighter winds then the REV 1.5 SUL. I was using their short handles thus I could not quickly run it through the tricks I am used to with my 16" long handles.
I do believe this will be an excellent team kite.
Gee, I hope they bring this one out on the market.

And a post from Ben:
Went to the San Diego kite club meeting today with Joe H.so we could get the new kite in some hands other than ours and it went over well.We knew with the bigger size and narroower center and the new structure we've developed the floats and all around performance were sweet but we wanted to hear others point of view so we figured lets take it to the field and see the response and it was very good. People could not get over how far you could float this kite and because of the new balance system how you could lay the kite flat out. Im thinking that this will open the door to lots of slacck line tricks in the future in the right hands. Big things family, big things for sure this is going to be on the market in the coming year and once agian Rev has stepped up the game..Ben

-------------------------
It sounds like a trick kite. a new thing for most Rev fliers.
I'm going to a 50th anniversary party in S. California in early February. I hope I can get time to drive down to Revolution and see the new kite.

David, do you have any info on projected availability, or any other info?

there is little question for me that when this kite is available, I will buy one... I have virtually 1 of every one of their kites now and will continue the trend.

The question at this point (other than when it is available) what to do about a color (and obviously, what will Lolly allow us to do)... should we start to think about something custom for the club? I know it's early but I wanted to put the thought out there... I will be very curious to know what the color combinations will be and if it will be a symetrical design or not...

Short of that, maybe we could think about a way to silkscreen our IKE logo on whatever we get?

I'd like to get our logo on all my kites eventually...

:bash: When will we get to see it? I'd like to make sure to put it on my calendar.

Hey Babbman, I think I may have to wait on the next SLK. After hearing Mike's report, the new Rev should not be taken lightly :mrblue:
