Open flying 11am until 6:30pm (or there abouts)... May be able to fly later than that but that's what is scheduled.

So I'll be there for some amount of time...probably late morning, like 11:30, maybe even noon, until around 5 or so.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

Our local news just interviewed Scott Fisher of Gift of Wings, who stated that the kite fest will include an Illinois kite team performance!

You guys are the Stars tomorrow! :Logo180GO!: WOOT-WOOT! :Logo180GO!:

And it looks like I'll need to bring my daughter. I hope I can keep her entertained while I'm there. Or she can help entertain herself.

Black shirts, please.

By the way, the next batch of 180go shirts will be red and incorporate the IKE logo.

If not for my IKE friends, especially 180GO team members, our fest wouldn't have been the success it was!

:thanks: to All of you for attending and my "Makin' my Day!" as well as entertaining all the spectators who attended the event!
...and how about dem Boomers???? ...The fireworks were the perfect ending to a most perfect day! :LogoRevAni:

I have to say that sat was the most fun I have had in quite some time. Good weather, good friends, amazing fireworks. And a new kite! Minus the small blisters on my forehead it was perfect. Thanks for the invitation, I hope to do this again next year.

Same goes for me - I had a blast!! It was great seeing everybody again, and I've already been out crashing my new kite (funny how the quad-line stuff won't work on the dual-lines... I have some learning to do, it seems).

Jynx,

Thanks for being such a great local-field host. You are WINDERFUL.
:thanks:

This is the best "festival " I've ever attended. Great flying with friends in wide open fields. Awesome fireworks.

The fireworks can't be beat. For those that didn't attend:
-- 55 minutes from four barges plus land-based
-- Two interim grand-finales that were better than 95% of prrevious shows I've seen plus a fantastic final, final, grand finale
-- Fireworks I've never seen before including a parachute with sparkler-type items hanging below
-- Reflections of the bursts on the surrounding high-rise buildings
-- Up close, unobstructed views of the fireworks

Not to be completely ridiculous, but.... I fourth it!

Thanks, too, to Scott, who was so great and saved me from having to buy a new set of spars.

Is there a hotel where people are staying for this event?
