Grinnell in 2010

Postby Mike » Thu, Jul 23 2009, 11:37 AM

Next year, the Grinnell Kite Festival will be the first weekend in June. That's traditionally the same weekend as Naperville.
The Chamber of Commerce didn't want to keep the same date as previous years and many dates were thrown out there before coming to this final decision. Dick and Sis argued against this date, but there ya go.

Just thought I give y'all a heads up.

Yup, that's what I said. Thus the frustration and why Dick and Sis argued against it.

And going west, it's also the normal weekend for Twisted Lines in Topeka.

As much as I love Grinnell, the choice of driving 4 hrs vs driving 20 mins to help promote a local festival is really a no-brainer for me.

Grinnell and Twisted Lines are about an equal drive for me - but I've been going to Twisted Lines longer, and seeing that it is one of only two competition events still running in Central, if they do run the same weekend I'll probably be at Twisted Lines.
