Mike insisted he could fly anything. We took him up on the offer and so here he is attaching a bridle to a tree.

Actually, in truth he was calling and Rose followed him in. She makes a great wing women.

Here is a stack trying to take a potty break. Not everyday you catch this on film ....

Great day flying, Great field, Great location, Great company.

Thanks to everyone that let us try your kites. Lauren had a ball and especially enjoyed flying all the Revs and the Micron.

I've posted some pictures on the IKE Flickr page with a few below. http://www.flickr.com/groups/ike/

Hey guys, looks like you had a great time, even with the kite eating trees.

I spent today moving stuff into my youngest sons new rental, he is still in Peru.

The temperature was 90 overnight, hit 100 around 8am and was 108 by 2pm, luckily is now only 88 (1am)

forecast is for the same tomorrow.

Walking outside is like opening the door to a blast furnace. Its even too hot to ride the motorcycle.

I think I will hit the pool to cool down then try to get some sleep

Well, Hunter's arm is officially fully mended, so today we went out with the dual line Beetle that Big Mike gave him. He was very excited about flying "his" kite. He lasted about 30 minutes ... which is a fantastic attention span for someone under five years old. Unfortunately, I think he's been watching Tom P. fly dual lines. He was positive that large arm movements were necessary to keep the kite in the air. The winds were not great where we were flying, but he was able to keep it up for a minute or so at a time. Will get him into a more open field and see if he can keep it flying for longer periods at a time.

Big Mike, thanks for the grins you put on his face.

Cheers,
Tom

Thank you Mike. Hunter has been super excited to fly it. When he got home he was telling me all about it, and already talking about the inland swirly winds and the tree lines. Another generation will never look at open fields the same again.

:thanks:
