The link changed. Here's the new link to .75 oz nylon ripstop seconds:

I'll be ordering the material tomorrow, Wed, 14th.
Last chance to pick colors....

How many people want spools of line?

$14 + shipping for 500 feet of 150# line on a spool?

Mike & Mike,

All right! Rok building it is, in 15 days and ... and ... hmmm ... don't know the start time, so I don't know how many hours are left to wait. I know it's a little early, but when do you guys want to start? I assume Anne doesn't want me knocking on your door before breakfast.

A sewing machine, thread, a smile ... what else do I need to bring. Also, what else would be good to bring.

Cheers,
Tom

I'm going to order the line soon. If you aren't ordering any, be sure to bring around 35' of line for the bridle and bow line.

The bridle will need around 22' of 150# line .
The bow lines will need around 12' of most any line--even 50# will work.

Good mental jog ... would you add a spool of 50# line for me ... 500 feet w/ spool winder. My grandson ended up with my light line set. If they don't have 50#, then 80# will do.

Thanks,
Tom

I'll be ordering the line from Chicago Kite. I'll see if Dave can get what you want.
(sneak preview: Chicago Kite will be the 180GO! sponsor starting in March)

That's good. You'll need flying line too though. I'm not sure waxed line would be good for flying.

Time: 9am
If you show up late that's OK. We'll have to take turns cutting and then sewing anyway. And I don't mind repeating myself, I do it all the time.
But if everyone shows up late I'll be lonely....

I will be having Anne pick up a variety of lunch meats, cheeses, breads and other odds and ends snacks. Does anyone have any other requests?

Thanks.

Thanks Anne!
We'll throw money in a hat to cover your expenses.

Speaking of expenses, most of the kite building supplies just arrived. Some of the spars are back-ordered but that's not a problem because I can fill in from my personal stock if they don't arrive in time.

For each kite:
It looks like $22 for the hardware package (spars, endcaps, velcro, webbing, dacron, etc).
Another $4 for the two black triangles of fabric.
$4.50 for a piece of Red, Green or Blue fabric, or if you ordered something different, whatever it cost. I'll bring the invoice with me.

We'll figure the totals when you get to class, but it'll be about $31/kite

****I'm gonna place the line order with Dave on Monday, so let me know if you need line.

Paul,

Please don't encourage him ... he's obviously using an inferior OS on his boot disk.
