Show Me Your Revs.

Postby linekahuna » Mon, Dec 29 2008, 04:26 PM

Let's see what you fly.
This Rev is named "Beau" after one of my black cats.
Note the green of the eyes is in a different place than a standard Ninja Eyes kite.
Homemade Revs? You judge whether you want to post them.

I think you should feel free to post home-made revs here. It's a little rude on the Rev forum, but I think it's OK on other forums.

Here's a small, random sampling.

The 180GO! Rok:

An IKE Square kite. I never like the way it flew and incorporated the sail into the current club kite:

Mike,

Well, I think we should ignore Jim on this one ... I mean ... he drags out a custom/custom ninja and then asks to see our revs. And here we are without even a Pro kite in the bunch. Look Mike, you haven't even upgraded to an Amateur series kite yet. Talk about a bunch of mid-west hicks. Dang. Dang. And, double dang.

Well, maybe Ken's custom vented (tribal venting) kite will have to do.

Depressed,
Tom

I also have two "B" series Rev in lime, one full vent, the other mid-vent a Rev 1 in yellow and pink .
Have two others but are homemade.
The Ninja is my favorite one when equipped with Race Rods.
I love to scare the kids with it.
Going to stack all six one day.

Here is one I drew up but not made.

BOO!

Hicks or not, we are all in the same family, Rev lovers.
Custom Revs are okay to fly so people can see them.
Besides, I like to get the kids to interact with my Revs.
Have them hold out their hand and do a wing tip stand on one of their fingers.
They love it.
Attach a coat hanger to the end of the leading edge to pick items up such as a plastic
bucket or other objects.
Have you played catch and toss with a Rev? Try it, you'll like it.

Ignore me? Hahahaha. That's a good one. Love it!

Jim,

If you take me serious when I'm whining, we'll both get in trouble. Actually, if you take me seriously, you'll be the first. I think it's great that you've joined the forum ... even with that *&%& kite. Please stay and enjoy the company.

Yes, I did try catch and toss ... with Mike's anniversary kite.

Cheers,
Tom

I've relied on good looks, charm, and sponsorship for my kite collection for several years. I have been thinking of buying a new kite though.
Indoor or Pro?
Haven't decided yet.

I did get to fly the B-series kite a lot last year, even if it wasn't my own personal kite.
I've also flown a Pro and lots of masterpiece series kites although they don't live in my bag.

Aha! Jeepster, I recognized that handle elsewhere.
Here is another of my Revs.

Have one full-vent and one mid-vent.
Would like to have a five-stack of them.

Only two Revs so far. I'm a bit late to this game.

The vent is sort of plain jane rainbow, but I like the Standard colors a lot.

Here are a couple of shots of my personally made custom vented rev. Which was originally was a 1.5sle with mylar. I cut out the mylar and replaced it with lime green rip stop. Did a search on tribal art found some pieces I liked, modified to my liking and added the screening material for venting.

and with out further ado...

Isaac, the "quad stack" kite is new to me. What's the history behind that kite(s)?

Hey Mike

Those kites are Rev copys called Angle Quads or somthing like that. I got those in a kite trade with a guy from Texas back in my transition form duel line to Quad and before flying with 180Go!

I have six identical kites with stacking lines, a 300 lb X 90' quad line set and custom handles. I've only flown them a couple of times. Kinda of embaressed about the whole thing now as they are Rev copys and I have loyalty to Revolution. Awhile back Ben from Revolution posted that he would trade any Rev copys towards a real Rev. I e-mailed him but he never answered.

Well, I have a B-series vented and non-vented plus a common SUL kite. The fourth Rev is an uncommon SUL kite that John B was kind enough to donate to me when I won a raffle last year. This is a picture of it on it's maiden flight. I don't name kites, but this kite looks like something out of a Victoria Secret catalogue ... thus, it simply had to be named Victoria.

Cheers,
Tom

It's a nice looking kite. I always liked iQuad's night flying kites.

It was actually very neat looking in the snow. I didn't plan on flying it, but when I got to the beach it simply became time to try it. When the Washington field is either frozen or snow covered, I plan on using the auto dealership lights to try flying it at night.

Cheers,
Tom
