Hmmm almost a 3 hour drive from Chicago. I'll have to think this out a little.

It's further for me too. I'm trying to pull in some of the West of Chicago/Iowa/Western Central Illinois folks.

Looks like I won't make it after all :(

Didn't feel too good today and slept most of the afternoon. Probably not a good idea to be outside all day.

I can't afford to get full blown sick. :doc:

Looks like Issac is not the only one that is going to be staying in for the weekend. For I am also feeling under the weather too. :doc: So I would rather pass on a club fly rather then be out for the holidays. I fought real hard with myself with having to miss this weekend. I really hate missing the gatherings with all of our friends from the club.

Since I will not be able to say it in person to everybody that will be there tomorrow and everybody else from the forum...

"PLEASE HAVE A GREAT AND SAVE HOLIDAY!!" :kid:

Well I have to work today because my customer wasn't ready for me for 2 days in a row... so back out for at least half of the day.

Have a good time everyone.

I'm heading out in about 10 minutes.

Mostly cloudy. Not as cold. Highs in the mid 40s. Windy. South winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph.

Sure couldn't complain about the lack of wind at the club fly today. Vented kites were the order of the day ... all day! It wasn't that cold if you were flying a rev ... there was just enough movement to keep you warm ... well, that and multiple layers of clothes. The temperature was right about 40 degrees, but the wind made it seem colder. Very light sprinkles for a few minutes two or three times during the day ... no one stopped flying, so it wasn't that bad.

All together we had about six single line kites, a dual line stack and five revs for the day. Not bad for a mid-December fun fly. Lots of people stopped and watched us during the day. One gentleman introduced himself because he lives in the area and flies dual line kites ... we made sure he talked to jgrob. As we were leaving the restaurant, a gal stopped us and commented on how much fun our kite flying had looked.

For me it was great having the club fly in the local area ... now my neighbors know I'm not the only crazy kite flyer.

My thanks to Mike Kory and Mike Stephenson for loaning my son a vented kite so he could fly join in the fun.

Cheers,
Tom

It was fun today. The wind never really got that strong. I didn't need weights and it was flyable the whole time.

I'm glad you all had such good conditions for a December day. I wish I could have been there.
Keep calm, and park it in the pocket

IKE is on Image too!
