Steve, Ken and I had great time today.
Good wind, warm temps. Got our photo taken again--we are just so good looking I guess.

Steve, a few of the SLKs in the air, and a close-up of Ken's new version of his cool looking sled:

Ya and the photographer was a lot cuter then the last one!! :P
Sorry the rest of you had to work. :(

As far as the double foil sled goes, it was just too plain. Had to do something more to it!! Now its got some flash to it.

 I am so bitten by the sewing bug!!

The flow form is Mikes.

The tails didnt really do anything to steady the flight just added some flash, same shimmery material as on my Jolly Rogers. Cant wait to see it in more of a sunny day, colors should really pop.

Haven't been in the air since Naperville, so today was a welcome surprise. Isn't the 'net great?!

Flying with a group is SO much more fun than flying by yourself. I get bored after an hour or so by myself, but could go all day with you guys...especially since I'm not causing as many 'incidents' as before. I was only able to be there for a couple of one hour apearances, but was rejuvinated just the same.

BTW...Driving past the field on Main on the way to Deb's apt., it looked like a festival with all the single-lines in the air...even with just two of you out there! IKE is a 'Moveable Feast', wherever we go!!!

Looking forward to the next gathering...even if it's cold! :clubfly: (Hint, hint!)

If not for you guys, I would never have appreciated the value and impact that SLI's make...

Time for babbman to learn to sew...

Forgot to post one of the SLKs, a pocket sled:
Image

The flowform is small one and flys well but doesn't have much pull. Probably because it's only bridled along the top as well as it's small size.
It flies at a much higher angle than my Pilot kite though, which I like.
The flowform plans are from Margaret Greger's book, Kites For Everyone. It's about 32" wide and 42" tall. The spinning drogue (which isn't needed) is the windsock from the kitemonger site you linked to elsewhere.

Great photos, nice and crisp. Glad to see she sent them to you!!! :-D :-D Were there any more? Would love to know what the project was or how she used the photos.

Now not only can I say "I fly one handed" but also Steve and I now have invisible Kites!! :rotfl :rotfl  Maybe we should also have some 35/50ft line sets. So when the photographers come around they can get both the flier and their kites in the pictures.  To think we were on 75's on monday not the 120's. Speaking of which, I got my spool of line today, YIPPY!!!! :bash: :clap :bash:

Mike please send on our thanks for sending you the photos.

That just shows just how fast those kites are, faster than the camera!

What do you think of us having a bulk email sent out for club flying events? Would you like to be on such a list?

Yes! That is a superb idea!

i would also like to offer a suggestion:

i think that it would be prudent to arrange these Flying Events, which are planned days ahead of time, in a tentative way. The day before a Fly, if the local weather reports call for (as an example) an 80% chance of thunderstorms... i think that it would be wise to postpone the Fly until the following weekend or to sometime soon afterward. Most of us have common sense; we understand when it is safe or not so safe to be out in the fields. However, there may be some who just are not able to "say no". For the benefit of those of us who are a bit too addicted (beyond reason), i think that a structure or policy to (in the advent of inclement weather) postpone events (temporarily) would be a wise thing. It is my opinion that even Festivals should be so structured.

Not to scare anyone, but my mother once told me about being out in a field during a 4th of July event. The girl adjacent to her was struck by lightning; she was toasted; she did not survive.
