Lynn and I have been here in Long Beach Washington since July 27th. We have had rain several times, but only at night. The past few days have been clear with plenty of sunshine and nice wind. We have flown SULs, standard sails, vented sails and Xtra vents, although full vents would have been OK. We have been on the beach in "T" shirts with a light wind breaker as well as sweat shirts with heavy jackets.
We have flown from one to five hours every day. Today we had seven in line, Bob Oliver whom most of you do not know, but will meet, John Farrell, Tom King, Bill Seward from near South Padre Island Texas, Gerry Rolls from Sandy Oregon, Lynn and myself.
Several of us are going to the World Kite Museum tomorrow morning to help cut sails etc. to get ready for the kite making activities sponsored by the museum.
We have been amused every day by people driving out onto the beach who should not be driving out onto the beach. Some, even with four wheel drive, get themselves buried in the soft sand. We wonder "What were they thinking", then realize that they weren't.
Anxious for you all to arrive.
Cheers, Jim and Lynn
