NYM single vent vs double vent

I got a line on a new single or double vent NYM and I'm trying to figure which I'd rather like. I have no experience with the NYM and I'm wondering if anyone has advice as to the difference between the two. I currently have a B-series Std through full vent, so I want to know how the NYM feels and handles. This is likely to be flown in coastal winds mainly. My other option is to just save up and buy a new Phoenix from Bazzer.

Keep in mind my skills are still one step above newbie. I'm just starting to fly again after a hiatus.

I only have a standard and I do like it. I believe the 180GO! team kites are NYMs, so I think asking some of those on the team will give you a good idea.

You might want to try to make it to one of the Pontiac club fly events sponsored by Route 66 Kites. Big Mike will likely have NYM kites and/or the new Reflex kites to try (including the Reflex Spider). Depending on who is there, the 180Go! team bag might be there (for sure at the October Pontiac kite festival).

Thanks Steve, but I'm probably not going to be around. I haven't announced it yet, but I'm moving west. Just wondering. I've read a lot about sail flutter and noise. I may save up for a Bazzer Phoenix. Anyone have one of those they can share info about?

The team's NYM fly great, but given what you already have, I'd get a reflex spider next.
It will the most different from what you own.

Portland. Lots happened over the last 1.5 yrs. Parents are now gone and older kids in college, so we're changing our life. I'd love to have a local fly soon so we can catch up. I know its festival season.

Portland rocks. Plus you are close to WSIKF.

Portland is a lot of fun. Blue Star donuts are the best!
You'll have a good time, but we'll miss you on the flying field.
