New York Minute "Colorizer"

Postby swannie » Tue, Feb 18 2014, 04:54 PM

Hey guys,

I got bored today, so using a few pictures online as reference I created a panel layout for the NYM kites that you can then colorize in Photoshop (or whatever your preferred image editor is). I *think* I got the panel layout right, some of the seams were hard to see in the various pictures. Also, from a customization point of view I have *NO* idea if they're going to offer the same colors as the B-Pros, if all the panels will be customizable, or if they'll even offer customization on them first place. :)

If anyone finds them useful ... enjoy! :)

It looks right to me, except for the center seam--the NYM doesn't have one.
Also, I don't know if you want to add it, but the logo is vertical on the rightmost panel.

Cool - thanks! It looked like there was a seam there in the pictures, but looking now I realize it was probably a fold. Seemed like an odd place for a seam to me. :)

I thought about adding the logo, but I thought it might make it difficult to colorizer with the flood fill tool.

Do you know if they're actually going to offer these in custom colors eventually?

Cool. Nice way to procrastinate work :-P

Must not play with it . . . . must not . . . . (full disclosure: I'm currently procrastinating work)

Updated with the seam removed. I realized the way the logo is silkscreened on there it wouldn't be an issue, so I added that as well.

New photoshop and PNG files attached - have fun avoiding work, Steve. :)

Has anyone seen the "max vent" (70%) on this kite? Would it be the three grey panels I have, or are there more? I'm assuming that 70% means 70% of the sail area, so there must be more...?

I'm working on getting the vented kites. We'll have a club fly when I get them.
I don't know if they'll do custom versions, Big Mike might know.

I think the 70% refers to 70% more venting than to the full vent b. Not 70 % of the whole sail.

So . . . . less than the Extra Vent, I'm thinking.

I thought I read that the maximum-vent configuration was supposed to be between a full-vent and an extra-vent on the b-series. There's a thread somewhere on the Rev forums I believe.

I think you are right. The venting is suppose to fall in between the current venting line up. Between standard and mid-vent, mid-vent and full vent, full vent and x-tra vent.
Which means I have to buy 6 new kites. 3 for me and 3 for Shari. Thank goodness for the new job!

I'm super interested in trying out the less-than-mid-vent. Little vent?

I like your plan!

But . . . . I think my wife might say that I need to sell 3 for me and 3 more for me and 3 more for me first . . . .
