I need your help
I need your help
Hi y'all,
it's about time I updated the team flying animations to a smart-phone friendly format.
Please load this page:
http://tinyurl.com/blender4
on your smart phone, pc, mac, various web browsers, etc.
It will not scale to the size of your screen, but I'm hoping it will still be usable on most devices.
Please let me know what worked, or didn't work, and what device and browser you were using.
Any and all comments are appreciated as well.
Thanks!

p.s.
at least on an iPhone, swiping left and right will go forward and back a step.
Does it do that on Android too?

Re: I need your help
Chrome Version 29.0.1547.66 m worked on my Windows 7 laptop.
Using IE 10.09.1600.16600 on the same laptop worked fine, but there was a message at the top that said:
"This site is using the Chrome Frame plug-in that will soon be unsupported. Please uninstall it and download a compatible browser."

Beautiful on the iPad mini
Re: I need your help
Thanks everyone
It looks like this will be worth doing.
Any comments on the program itself?

Way cool Mike. Great tool for teaching on or off the field.
Is there a way to capture on the iPhone so that Internet access is not necessary?

So cool! ...Works on my thing that looks like a TV but has internet access and a keyboard like a typewriter and it folds in half when I'm not using it!

Re: I need your help
Anyone tried it on one of those huge screened android phones? Is the text readable?

I should have said that this was on my Android phone. Text was visible IIRC. Screen size on my phone is not huge, just slightly larger than those ithings.
Just one thought- swiping skips the animations, at least on Android. Any way to have the forward swipe run the animation, instead of going to the next slide?
Anybody else have an opinion on that?

Okay, no one reported any major problems, so I tried it on my Verizon android phone. It worked great. Screen is 2.25" X 3.25", so it shows up well ... about an inch of unused space at the bottom of the screen though. Guess the picture is square ... shows at 2.25" X 2.25" on my phone.
A single button to make the kites travel slowly through the total pattern would be nice. Obviously clicking the "go" button when appropriate is an acceptable work around.
I do like the "turn down" part of the directions. We don't talk enough with the beginning fliers about which way to turn when doing team flying ... that results in line wraps that could be avoided. At WSIKF, I noticed quite a few folks turning the wrong way. I got stuck leading a couple of times - scary yes? - and found that walking through the pattern slowly, and telling folks which way to turn, seemed to speed up the learning process.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: I need your help
Mike shared the secret handshake with me.
If you're on the last slide, hitting the right most button doesn't do anything. Back up to the slide you want to start from (most likely slide one) and then hit the right most button to start the continuous animation from that point.
Thanks for taking the time to do this Mike, it's appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom
