So . . . weather is looking cold this weekend. But looks likes some wind (north on Sat, south on Sun). Too much wind today!

Pretty sure my Saturday will be taken up with yard work (LOTS of leaves out there now). Not sure about Sunday . . . . based on recent history, I guess some of the DuCoKane people might fly this weekend. So - anybody interested in flying?

Also - anybody south of I-80 flying?

I think I'm available. Earlier the better for me on Sunday.

Sunday works for me. I can be wherever at whatever time. With the change back to Standard Time, sunset will be about 4:45 pm.

Forgot about that time change. I'm going to have to check with my wife because she needs me to go work with my son's first lego league team at some point this weekend. Without checking . . . I'd propose 1 pm-ish, in St. Charles, for a couple hours.

I'll be there at 1. If not a bit earlier if the wind is up.

Steve, Todd, Xay, David and Bill showed. Wind was up and so were our vented kites. Xay launched his big foil first.

And we had to get a shot of his Rev up near it.

We were doing pretty well together if I do say so myself. Although I'll let Steve be the judge. I called my wife to come out and take a few photos.

Not the world's tightest ball. But there were a couple of rookies in the group. Myself included.

A few more to come.

Then it was time to pack up and go. A fun time.

Bill - Thanks (and thank the wife) for posting the photos. I think you picked a good set out of the bunch.

You guys are improving every week. This week we did a lot of figure 8 flying, with less "cutting the corners," and a lot less flying into the ground. Plus we also did some edge work, balls, pez and even a run through benefits with four kites.

Part of team flying is just getting comfortable flying with other people, and part is learning the calls (i.e. what they mean and what you need to do from your position in the line). Over the last month since the retreat, you guys have gotten another three or four hours flying in lines together (plus all the other "messing around" time), and that flying together makes a huge difference. I mean, think about it, when I arrived today you guys were doing "refueling" - and that's something that would have ended in "macrame" just three or four weeks ago.

Hope to see you all (including you, Bill) in a couple weeks at Montrose.

P.S. - nice foil, Xay!!
