Sept 14 - somewhere . . . maybe Dekalb

I just agreed to show up at the top of the hill at Greene Valley on Sunday afternoon (not sure what time), so I thought I'd let the rest of y'all know. A friend of mine leads a Venture Crew, and he asked if I'd show the group some of my kites & let them learn to fly. Venture Crews are an offshoot of the Boy Scouts that includes both boys and girls, and also allow kids that have "aged out" of scouting to continue to participate in activities. I'm planning to head up there with some SLKs, maybe a dual line or two, and some revs. I'm not sure how many kids will show up (their group is not very big, and a couple of the kids headed off to college this year).

I'll probably know more tomorrow. If it doesn't pan out, then I'll probably go fly somewhere anyway (assuming there's wind) . . . .

It did not pan out. I might go fly tomorrow anyway . . . not sure where. Maybe Dekalb. Maybe ??

I'm going to the park by the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere... there were some fliers out today. I was jealous since I was at work all day.

I think that was because Chicago Kite was running a festival in Belvidere today. I don't think they will be there tomorrow - I think they move on to Dekalb.

I'm heading for DeKalb in the morning, hope to see some IKE people there.

I hope to get out there mid-day.

I met Mark and later Steve at DeKalb today. Quite a crowd, too. Wind cooperated for the most part. I had never flown my Rev in close quarters with so many other kites. So that was an interesting experience. Toward the end of my time there Mark and Steve offered to let me try follow the leader. That did not end well. Thanks to them both for their patience.
