We'll see you next time.

There was so much wind, I could fly my full vent sitting in a chair pretty much the whole time, with the leader brake on the outermost setting.

Well, it's still October . . . . and I can probably get free tomorrow afternoon for a couple hours to fly. Anybody around & want to fly (local to Chicago as I only have a few hours)?

I am going to try for Busse Woods today. I flew there yesterday for a couple of hours. One heck of a lot of wind, but it was fun. It looks like from 2-4 should be the best wind today.

Not sure what time exactly, but I'll see you at Busse. Forecast is showing a lot of wind - bring vented kites!

Wish I could be there guys. Would a mid-vent be good enough for high winds? I''m looking at getting one.

I flew yesterday with a standard (non-vented) and it was fine. The Rev is rated to 25 mph winds. I just adjusted what knot I used on my handle. All the way out on top and actually used the inside knot on the bottom. Basically the most brake I could have. It worked fine. Gave me another feel for the kite. The real fun was with the para foil kite. It pulled like crazy!

Had a good time flying this afternoon with zero1199 (Say), makatakam (Mark), and kitemeister (Karl). Beautiful sunny skies, even if it was a bit cool. Wind was pretty good, even if it was a bit variable. I flew full vent the whole time. We got in some group flying time, doing figure 8's and even a couple trips up the middle & to the edges.

You will cover a greater wind range if you have a standard sail and a full vent. That's what I have and it serves me well.
