Okay, I'll watch for her kite next to mine on Sunday ...

Today was a great day for travel ... would have been great for flying also.

Cheers,
Tom

If you haven't been there before, Northerly Island is here:
http://goo.gl/maps/DpTs

It's easy to get there. Go to the Alder Planetarium. Turn right towards the parking, but keep going along the road--don't turn into the first parking lot. The signs say no more parking, but they're lying, there is. Keep following along the road. Go a short distance to the old Airport terminal and park just beyond it in the parking lot there. If you walk into the terminal there's a sign on the desk explaining that you can park where you just parked for free.

No snow and decent temps for this time of year. Should be a lot of fun!
Say we meet from around 10 or 10:30am to 4 or 5pm, depending on how people feel.
There's no food available (maybe a snack vending machine?) So bring something to eat.

Hey Jynx,

Don't use your long lines today. We awoke to 36 degree temps, rain and no wind here in Elko, Nevada. The weather is forecast to be the same to maybe a little worse all day.

As we've traveled from Illinois to here, there have been some high 50 degree days with light wind and lots of sunshine. And, there have been a few with temps in the 20 and 30s, no sunshine and lots of wind ... blow you down type wind ... out of the west as usual.

Enjoy today in Illinois!!!

Cheers,
Tom

The heck with kite flying in Elko! ...Go to the casinos... My lucky spot... Won a Whole Bunch out there!

Flying was chilly but the IKEers were Warm and fuzzy as always!

Had a great time! ...But I had to de-ice my kite! ...and that's NO lie!

Hey all,

Sorry I missed everybody yesterday. I had some family problems to deal with, and everything just sort of went to s**t on me. By the time I remembered the fly, it was dark out.

Maybe next time. I really need to fly.

Sorry you did not make it this time. Maybe next time!

David and I had a great time. Thank you to everyone that let us (try to) fly team for the first time (ever!). We really enjoyed the day, seeing everyone's kites & flying. Hope to see everyone at another club fly soon.

We did not get very many pictures - does anyone else have any to post up? Did anyone get pictures of Mark's new homemade quads?
