Hey guys, I am currently in Michigan for my nieces wedding (6-13) then next week I will be driving my dad to Campaign for a couple of days.

I contacted Mike and he said he would be available on Saturday (6-20), anybody else want to join in?

I just need to know where to go (to fly that is)

Hope to see some of you

I'm game. Of course, I haven't been driving all over the mid-west this last month attending a multitude of festivals like the 180GO! guys (and Rose) have. Pontiac might be a good choice ... that is somewhat central.

Cheers,
Tom

There's a field in Champaign where Dad and I fly as well, depends on how many people would be making the trip.

Hey Tom,

Would be great to see ya.

Unfortunately since I am the chauffeur, I will have to stay real close to Campaign in case he needs to be trans ported around town.

He is attending meetings with the family trust (my great, great, great grandfather owned a bank in town, now there is a few of farms)

Is their any places in Campaign to fly?

Hmmm. That park doesn't show up on Google map. Maybe Mike can add it to the IKE Map page after he returns from this weekend's festival. For now, use the W. Curtis Road exit off Route 57 as the general area ... the field is a mile north of that exit on the west side of the expressway.

Cheers,
Tom

Mike ~

Wish I was closer so I could join in on the fly!

Hey... Milwaukee isn't that far away! I've got plenty of room for you/s!
Saturday is an impromptu fly at our Summerfest grounds! Wish you and all the IKEers could attend!

Dream on... I guess!

Way back in the early days of the club, we tried a couple different map solutions. We had put some on a Microsoft map as well. When I created the IKE Google Map, I pulled most of the data of the various maps we had started, but for whatever reason I missed the Champaign locations.

That has been rectified. The Champaign fields are now on the map.

1 in the morning and I can't sleep. Those who know me, know its pretty unusual for me to be up at this hour.
If the wind is a nice southerly wind, it might be fun to go to Meadowbrook park in Champaign.
That's a great place to get some press and introduce new fliers. It's a popular park but it has trees on all but the south side.

In either case, notice the new Curtis Road exit off the 57. It's on Google, but probably not on your GPS.
I think it's exit #232 and it's your best bet for either park.

Pretty sure I've got an xl t-shirt.

All those who make the drive to Champaign--the pizza is on me.

Let's have a roll call:
I'm in of course.

Chris and I are tentative. What time would you be starting? We are debating about coming down Friday night vs Saturday am.

I figure to start around 9, and end when folks get tired.
You don't have to be there at the start, of course.

Of course!

And John and Chris have confirmed that they are coming.

Paul and Mike M. can fly their dualie stacks whilst the others fly quads.
