Saturday, October 16 in Pontiac

Post Number:#1  Postby Mike » Mon, Sep 27 2010, 12:32 PM

Who's up for a club fly on Saturday, October 16 in Pontiac.

I'm choosing Pontiac because it's on the west side of the state and that makes it slightly easier for a couple new QC area members.

There's been some interest in dual line stuff so I'm hoping Tom P. can make it and this isn't far for him.

There's also interest in Rev lessons and Rev team flying, so I want to make sure those folks are available for this date too.

How about a roll call: who can and can't make it on this date. If you can't do Saturday, would Sunday be better?

I have to work. :(

This is becoming a theme... I have to work to support my kiting habit, but I can't fly because I'm working... I think there's a flaw in that set-up...

Have fun!!

i can come! Marla said something about relatives maybe having a party around then... but then said, "Go ahead and go."

"Kiting" or "relatives" is an easy choice.

I'd love to have a chance to meet some club members and get some Rev lessons for myself and my son. I'll check with the wife and see what she says. Saturday is better for me / Sunday does not work.

thanks.

Let's set it in stone: Saturday, October 16.

As we approach winter, I'd like to remind everyone:
On the morning of a club fly, just before heading out the door, fire up the computer and check the forum.

If the weather forecast is for ice and snow and driving would be hazardous, I might cancel the fly.
People local to the area might still decide to go, and if they do they can post on the forum to drum up some attendance.

Also, if you're new to the club, collect a few phone numbers so you can call with any questions or if you get lost on the way to the park.
My number is available via email. Just email or PM me.

I cant make it either, I'll be on the road, driving my dad to Florida. I fly back to Tucson 10/22 to pack up Kris' car and drove to our new digs on the Oregon Coast

Yea, but it's wet and cold and the wind over the rocks will be turbulent. No sand, just rocks. No swimming 'cuz it's too cold. No sunshine 'cuz it's too far north. The drive to Kite Party is almost twice as much as from Tucson. Not at all as beautiful as the mid-west. Yea, right!

As to the club fly: Big Mike has a Rev leading edge frame set on which I'm looking for some feedback. Please stick it in your kite, fly it a little bit and tell me what you think of it.

I'll think about you guys on Saturday ... we'll be in Bisbee, AZ where it's a little cooler than it is in the desert. Geez, middle of October and it's still 100 degrees. Next week promises to be down in the 80s, so maybe I'll actually get to fly.

Cheers,
Tom
