Two Rivers-Labor day weekend.

Postby Darkspark » Sun, Aug 21 2011, 09:09 PM

Two Rivers is coming up in fairly short order.
Throwing this up to see who is going to make the trip to the fest. The trip will be well worth it. One of my favorite festivals I have been to in the past. Other than Grand Haven, It is one of the best that is within a reasonable driving distance.
And to top it all off 180GO! will be flying with a full 6 person team!

:Logo180GO!: :revspin:
If that isn't an excuse to make the drive then I don't know what is.

OK . . . I'm now 50% possible to make it. We're scheduled to go to a friend's house on Sat / Sun that weekend. Their house is about 2 1/2 hours from Two Rivers . . . but I think I may be able to show up for dinner on Saturday as opposed to all day. Final decision will probably happen on Friday the 2nd . . . depending on the kid's behavior and my wife's mood.

Proud to say I've been invited to demo quads in the "Learn to Fly" area... So I'll be there for sure!

I have a prior commitment on Saturday morning, but will get there asap...(probably noonish) and attend all day Sunday!

That is pretty cool, Jynx! If you are in need of some assistance giving lessons I am sure Shari would be happy to help out. She likes giving lessons.
Look forward to seeing you, Haven't got to fly with you since Grand Haven.

I'm reminded of the saying... If you can't do, teach!

I now have numerous newbies who come to Veterans Park (Milwaukee lakefront) all the way from Kenosha up to the West Bend area to learn... It's been an ongoing challenge and a true learning experience for me as well! I love bringing more to the Dark-Side and have actually started to form a local team.... though not a very pretty sight as yet, and not quite ready for a formal performance... we sure have FUN!

It also keeps me busy and out of jail!

Looking forward to seeing you all again... and of course any help will be appreciated!!!!!!!!

Jynx - If I make it to Two Rivers, I'd be happy to help. Very cool that you are teaching at Veterans as well. Hey - another thing - anytime you plan to fly at Veterans, post up here in the weekly threads. Maybe some of us would be crazy enough to make the drive, especially on a weekend (I'm talking about me (and also looking at you Mark :-D )). It's probably an hour and a half for me to get up there, but that's about the same as Kankakee and I've driven down there for a few hours of flying. I might even show up in Charleston or Champaign some day  .

I'm at Veterans park as often as the winds allow!

If you'd like to check on the current conditions before making the trip check-out:

Being retired, I'm no-longer a calendar person... I check the conditions and if free I'm there!

Sounds great!

BTW, I posted the festival over on the rev forum as well here.

Can't edit for the weekend. Kites, friends, and may be some family. It will be a great time to head to the beach. :)

Are people staying for Sunday as well? If I make it up there, it's only going to be for one of the two days.

Yup, we'll be here today and tomorrow. It's raining right now, if you're only coming one day, I'd recommend tomorrow...

Just looked at the radar & forecast. Looks like you are free of rain right now, but there's a high chance of more showers the rest of today. The showers & thunderstorms are tracking in the direction of Two Rivers all the way from Iowa / Nebraska. I'm going to take your advice and skip today. I'm about 75% sure I can make tomorrow. If so I'll try to get there by noon.
